Highlights from the 2020 Ford Truck Lineup

If there’s one truck brand that’s classic and modern, durable and tough, it’s Ford. For decades, Ford has earned a reputation for producing some seriously capable pickup trucks. And if you’re looking for a brand-new truck that can handle anything you throw its way, you need to check out the 2020 Ford truck lineup.

Filled with familiar pickups and featuring slight improvements across the lineup, Ford’s 2020 trucks are some of the best yet. With impressive towing and hauling capabilities, new technology that makes everything from cruising down the highway to trailering over long distances easier, the newest Ford pickups are leading the way in safety, technological features, and innovation.

Which 2020 Ford truck is the best choice for you? That depends on what you’re looking for and what your driving needs are. Here’s what the latest Ford pickups have to offer, and what they’ve been updated with for the current model year.

  • MSRP: Starts at $24,410.

    Horsepower: 270hp, with a turbocharged 2.3L engine.

Towing Capacity: Up to 7,500 pounds.

The 2020 Ford Ranger is no slouch when it comes to pickup trucks and power. Though it’s one of the smallest trucks in the Ford lineup, this midsize pickup is still an excellent all-around choice. It offers a smooth, reliable ride, enough power to tow and haul heavy payloads, and you can choose from a great selection of different trim levels for every budget. From the basic XL trim to the fancier Lariat trim, there’s a Ranger in every style.

For the 2020 model year, the Ford Ranger saw a few updates. A brand-new FX2 optional package is now available, and it can be added to any rear-drive Ranger. The FX2 package is designed for those who love off-roading, and it includes features like off-road tires, an electronic-locking rear differential, and a trail-ready suspension. You can also opt to add on a pickup box extender to any Ranger. Lastly, there are three new paint colors to choose from: Iconic Silver, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Race Red.

  • MSRP: Starts at $28,745.

Horsepower: Varies depending on the engine type. The 3.5L EcoBoost engine delivers 375hp, the 3.3L TI-VCT engine delivers 325hp, the 3.5L High-Output EcoBoost engine delivers 450hp, and the 2.75L Turbocharged EcoBoost engine delivers 325hp.

Towing Capacity: Up to 7,000 pounds. With the Trailer Tow package, that increases to 13,200 pounds.

If you want a true classic for a truck, you can’t go wrong with the 2020 Ford F-150. One of America’s favorite pickups for decades running, the newest F-150 builds and improves upon a storied history. And it’s truly better than ever, with custom cab options, a wide range of different engine and driveline combinations, and options for every budget.

For the 2020 model year, the Ford F-150 saw just a few updates. The exterior underwent a few minor styling changes. The biggest change is under the hood: the F-150 is now available with the Power Stroke turbo-diesel V6 engine on the XLT trim levels. The Lariat trim level has also been upgraded, as it now comes with the entire Ford suite of driver assistance technologies, or Co-Pilot360. New paint colors of Iconic Silver, Rapid Red Tinted Clearcoat, and Star White Metallic Tri-Coat are also available.

  • MSRP: Starts at $53,455.

Horsepower: 450hp, with the included 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine.

Towing Capacity: Up to 8,000 pounds.

Need more power, more capability, and a more impressive truck? The 2020 Ford Raptor is the pickup that’s perfect for your needs. The Raptor rides on huge all-terrain tires, takes up almost an entire lane, and is wider than the classic F-150. As a result of these features and more, the newest version of the Raptor is ideal for off-roading and an incredibly comfortable ride. It’s quick – it can achieve 60 miles per hour in just 5.1 seconds – and it’s truly fun to drive.

For 2020, the Raptor saw no real changes aside from three new paint color choices. You can choose from a wide array that now includes Iconic Silver, Lead Foot, and Rapid Red.

  • MSRP: Starts at $33,705 for the F-250 XL model.

Horsepower: Depends on the model you choose. The F-250 and F-350 come standard with 385hp produced by a 6.2L V8 engine.

Towing Capacity: Varies depending on the model. The strongest Super Duty models can handle a 7,850 payload and pull a maximum of 24,200 pounds.

If you need a tough pickup truck that’s a step above all others, the 2020 Ford Super Duty is a great choice. Featuring models like the F-250 XL and the F-450, the Super Duty lineup is seriously massive in every sense of the word. These heavy-duty trucks are built to tow just about anything and carry impressively heavy loads. But they can also double as family-friendly transportation with bigger cabs and interior luxuries. The new Super Duty models feature the most powerful diesel engine available today, along with impressive infotainment and the latest driver assistance features.

For the 2020 model year, the Super Duty pickups did see some enhancements. New, more powerful engine choices are available, and they deliver the highest tow ratings heavy duty trucks have ever seen. And there are many, many different configurations, trim options, and packages you can build to customize your truck. The exterior on all Super Duty trucks has also been upgraded, with restyling on the front end and new faces on dual-rear-wheel pickups.
